Most GPs can do a commercial driver medical, and if you already have a doctor who knows you, there is a reasonable argument for going to them.
Where it is worth coming here is if you need more than one ticket at a time.
Plenty of people who work around the rail corridor also hold a heavy vehicle licence, and plenty of people who need a commercial driver medical are also due for a rail assessment. Both can be done in the same appointment rather than two visits to two practices, which is the whole of the advantage and I would not claim more than that.

- Heavy vehicle and heavy combination licence holders
- Bus and coach drivers
- Drivers carrying passengers for hire or reward
- Anyone whose employer requires a fitness-for-duty driving assessment
- Drivers referred for assessment after a medical condition or a change in health
- Applicants told by the licensing authority that a medical is required

- Photo identification
- Your driver licence
- Any form the licensing authority or your employer has given you
- Your glasses or contact lenses, if you wear them
- A list of your current medications
- Any relevant specialist letters or reports
